At a function organized by Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Pradeep Kumar Gyawali handed over Snow Safety Equipments (digital transceiver system ) along with shovels, probes and backpacks to Mr. Bikram Neupane, Chairman of Himalayan Rescue Association Nepal on October 13, 2006 (2006.6.27), developed by Backcountry Access (BCA) Inc. USA. These devices will be very much helpful to search and find the missing and buried people in avalanches. The DTS can locate the object within a circumference of 50 meters with directional indication.
The details of equipments are as follows
1. BCA Bag - 6 sets
2. Back Tracker - 10 sets
3. Shovels - 6 sets
4. BCA SRB Probe - 6 sets
Himalayan Rescue Association Nepal would extend our sincere thanks to BCA, Nepal Tourism Board and Minister Gyawali for providing those Snow Safety Equipments to HRA. We hope that the equipment will help us to save the lives in the Himalayas.
