HRA has organized a "Porter Training Workshop on Mountain Safety" programme on September 22 & 23, 2006 (2063.6.6 & 7) at Lukla Solukhumbu district. The objective of the programme is to provide training about mountain safety to the porters, as they need awareness about the possible accidents and illness that can be encountered in the mountain region. So, HRA has been organizing porter training workshop every year in Kathmandu. This year HRA conducted porter training workshop at Lukla, Solukhumbu district for the first time such a training/workshop.

The ceremony was inaugurated by Mr. Mradhav Prasad Ghimire, Secretary for Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation by lightening on Panas. Mr. Sharda Prasad Trital, Joint Secretary for Ministry of MoCTCA, Mr. Rabi Jung Pandey, Programme Manager for Tourism Rural Poverty Alleviation Project (TRPAP), Reporters from Kantipur Television & Nepal Television, Local Social Worker, Patron/Founder Chairman Mr. Tek Chandra Pokharel, HRA Chairman, Mr. Bikram Neupane and HRA Vice Chairman, Mr. Kumar Ranabhat were present on the occassion.
The total 63 participants were awarded with "Participant Certificate" by Mr. Bikram Neupane, Chairman, Himalayan Rescue Association Nepal.
