A half day workshop on “Healthcare for Tourist” was organized jointly by Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Himalayan Rescue Association Nepal (HRA) and Health Concern Nepal on Monday 17th February, 2014 (2070.11.5) at the Auditorium Hall of NTB, Bhrikuti Mandap, Kathmandu. Welcoming all in the workshop, Mr. Subash Nirola briefed on objective of the programme.
On the occasion, Joint Secretary Mr. Mohan Krishna Sapkota, Ministry of Culture, Tourism & Civil Aviation, assured to give priority and extend possible cooperation from the government to provide best healthcare for tourist in Nepal. Acting CEO, NTB Mr. Subash Nirola addressing the programme, he announced that the NTB is going to organize a class on altitude talk and information on safe trekking for tourist from the first week of March, 2014. HRA Chairman, Mr. Santa Subba also highlighted on the activities and future plan & project of HRA being done within the limited resources. HRA Medical Director, Dr. Buddha Basnyat also presented slide show of medical facilities and rescue evacuation done by HRA in the mountain. Likewise, Dr. Subash Pyakurel has presented a working paper on “Health care for Tourist – lets Make a
Common Goal” and an app called “Hospital Nepal” has been launched on the programme which was developed by Health Concern Nepal to provide information of concern hospitals and doctors to the foreigner visiting to Nepal.
